Angie Huerta Romero was born in Sonora, Arizona, a small town near Superior. She was the cherished daughter of Anita Aragon Huerta and Juan Cheno Huerta. Angie was the youngest in a large and loving family. She grew up surrounded by many siblings who enriched her life: Mary Lou A. Holt, Rosemary A. Redondo, Maggie A. Huerta, Connie H. Arroyos, Robert A. Huerta, Frederico F. Huerta, Roy Mercado, and Manuel A. Huerta. She also shared a special bond with her Noriega siblings: Johnny A. Noriega, George A. Noriega, Louis A. Noriega, Manuel A. Noriega, Henry Fierro, Lola Noriega, Annie Noriega, and Fina Noriega.

Angie began her working years at Motorola alongside her sister, Maggie A. Huerta, where she did assembly work. In time, she met the love of her life, Juan Castro Romero. The two were married on August 21, 1969, at St. Francis Catholic of Assist Church in Superior, Arizona. After marrying, Angie made her home in Superior, devoted to being a homemaker, and together they were blessed with three children: Johnny H. Romero, Louise H. Romero, and Joseph H. Romero.

Faith was an important part of Angie's life. She helped with Sunday school at a Christian church, and together with her husband, she embraced her love of religion. Throughout the years, they attended many different churches, where they built friendships and shared their faith with others.

Family was at the heart of Angie's life. She cherished spending time with her many nieces and nephews, as well as her brothers and sisters, and her brothers- and sisters-in-law. Whether cooking, baking, or gathering in each other's homes, Angie treasured every moment spent with family.

In later years, Angie faced hardships with resilience. After losing her home to a Massive Fire, she and Juan moved with their son Johnny to Globe, Arizona, where they began a new chapter. There, they met new friends and explored different faith communities together. Angie and Juan enjoyed the simple rhythms of life in Globe, taking the bus around town, going shopping, keeping up with medical appointments, and, most of all, eating Mexican food. Angie especially loved Mexican food and could often be found enjoying it with her loved ones.

Angie especially treasured time with her grandchildren, who brought her great joy. Through her daughter, Louise Romero, and son-in-law, Roland Miranda Sr., she was blessed with five grandchildren: Mercedes Angelina Romero, Roland Miranda Jr., Roland "Cuba" Miranda III, Juan "Keke" Romero, and Maya Mariah Miranda. She was also blessed with a great-grandchild: Melody Miranda Champagne. They loved their Nana dearly and traveled to be by her side before her passing.

Angie's heart was deeply broken after the loss of her beloved husband, Juan Romero, who passed away exactly six months before her. In a tender reflection of their lifelong bond, Angie passed away in the very same hospital room, with her children Johnny, Louise, and Joseph by her side.

She will always be remembered as a beautiful woman who loved to dress elegantly, complete with accessories in her favorite colors of yellow and pink. Angie was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, Nana, great-Nana, aunt, and friend. She had a strong spirit, a vibrant personality, and a way of making sure things were done just as she liked. Those who knew Angie will never forget her warmth, her love of family, and the countless memories she created. Her legacy will forever live on in the hearts of all who loved her.
