In loving memory of Anita Hernandez Hinojos,

Annie as we all know her passed away January 13th, 2025 in Tucson, Az surrounded by those who loved her

Anita "Annie" Hinojos, 73, was born in Phoenix, Az on May 8th, 1951 and grew up in Hayden (San Pedro), Arizona, where she first met the future love of her life in junior high, and later begin dating in high school.  On December 21st, 1970 she married Daniel Rios Hinojos.  Four years later, they were blessed with their first son, Daniel Hernandez Hinojos (Nancy), and three years later Michael Anthony Hinojos (Jessica) joined the family.

Daniel and Annie raised their children in the Winkelman-Hayden communities, while serving the same communities through many years of public service.  Such positions as Mayor, Vice-mayor, councilwomen, board member of numerous agencies, but none as great as her role as Hayden Senior Center Director, where Annie served the community for almost 40 years, with strength, love, and determination, as an advocate for the seniors that stretched from Battle Axe to Oracle and ALL those communities in between.

Annie had a determination that drew people to seek her assistance for family members at critical times in their life. She had an open-door policy even when not at work.  A life time of servitude for our community.

Annie is predeceased by her parents, Francisco (Chico) and Victoria (Julie) Ortega, her brothers, Nolberto Waddell and Michael (Mickey) Ortega, and her sister Susana (Suzie) Ruiz. She is survived by her husband, Daniel R. Hinojos, her twin sister Juanita "Jennie" Rose, sons Daniel (Nancy) and Michael (Jessica), granddaughters Annie Marie Hinojos, Daniella (Nella) Hinojos, Gabriella (Gabby) Hinojos, Mikayla Hinojos, Jordan Hinojos, Katalina Hinojos, and great grandson Matteo Daniel Aguilar.
