Aurora Bazan Gutierrez, age 94, entered everlasting life on July 20, 2020 with her family by her side.  She was born on August 30, 1925 in Superior, Arizona.  She is now reunited with her beloved husband Manuel Gutierrez.  She was also preceded in death by her parents, Faustino and Delores Bazan, sisters, Betty Guerra (Frank), and Dora Robles (Arnold), brothers, Julian, Jesus, Faustino (Godeleva), and Frank Bazan (Paula).

Aurora left a legacy of service to our world community.  She believed in giving back more than she received.  She was involved with the Superior Catholic Church, Little League, past President VFW Ladies Auxiliary, Buddy Poppy, and Cursillistas.  During WWII, she was a Rosie Riveter for Hughes Aircraft in Los Angles.

Her most important legacy was her family.  She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, and friend to many.  Her faith in God never faltered.  She was strong, courageous, and independent to the core.  A true

warrior in life.  These qualities are engrained into the hearts and souls of her family.  Her numerous layers of life made her the unique matriarch for future generations of her family.  All her stories were windows to the magnificent life that she lived.

Aurora is survived by her sister, Delia Bazan, and her 6 children, Betty Jean Schull (Robert), Sandra Silvas (Manuel), Hank Gutierrez (Ernestina), Bill Gutierrez (Dyane), John Gutierrez (Yvonne), and Tina Rivera (Louis).  She also is survived by 17 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.

Aurora was a wonderful cook and loved family gatherings.  She will always be remembered for her love of pearl necklaces, hats, hot fudge sundaes, and margaritas.

Mom, your family thanks you for your strong spirit, guidance, and strength.  You will be missed but always thought of.  GOD BLESS YOU.

A private funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on July 28, 2020 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church and burial to follow at Fairview Cemetery, Superior, Arizona
