Avelina "Abby" Madueno, age 86, passed away peacefully at her home in Superior, AZ on January 2, 2023.

Abby was born on November 10, 1936 to Claudia Trejo and Ignacio Pacheco in Superior, Arizona.  Avelina was the oldest of 7 siblings. Abby was preceded in death by both parents, her sisters Gloria, Olivia, Sylvia, and brothers Robert and Ernie.

Abby was married to Pablo Madueno for 57 years before his passing in 2014. Abby is survived by her 3 children Richard Pacheco, Patricia Madueno and Sylvia Madueno; sisters Yolanda Navarro and Bertha Navarro; 11 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren. Abby raised her children and several grandchildren at her home in Superior.

Abby worked at Triple X in Superior for 21 years and at Motorola in Mesa for 18 years before retiring.  Abby worked at Save Money Market in Superior for a short time. Abby helped care for several people in Superior and was always willing to help anyone.

Abby loved going to the casino, dancing (mostly at home in the kitchen), camping with her family and talking about the old days.  Abby liked explaining who was related to who and had a very sharp memory. Abby made the best tamales which earned 1 ^st place at a local tamale competition. Abby was outspoken and determined. She once gathered signatures for a petition to show the need for a pharmacy in Superior. So the next time you pick up prescriptions at the clinic you can think of Abby!

Abby will be missed deeply by her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Pablo Madueno whom she missed dearly.
