Betty Ruth Harmon passed peacefully in her home, Wednesday, August 23rd, 2023 after a long battle with dementia.

Betty was born on September 10th, 1936 in Tempe, AZ to Augustus and Edna Gensch.  She had two older sisters: Mae Rossman and Violet Bittick.   She married her soulmate, Charles Harmon, in New Mexico on September 15th, 1956.   Betty and Charles raised three children: Ruth Ann Skiles, Charlene Faye Pentilla, and Charles William (Billy) Harmon and enjoyed over 50 years together in Arizona before Charles passed in April 2012.

Betty worked several years at the Kearny Hospital in the Medical Records department before it closed many years ago.   She also worked at the Aravaipa College as a secretary and spoke fondly of the connections she made there.   After retirement, she and Charles traveled and worked as campground hosts.

Betty's greatest passions were her family and her dogs.   She was a strong woman who battled the formidable cancer Lymphoma and reigned victorious.   She was ferocious when she needed to protect those she loved but also ready with kind words or encouragement.   She was an amazing baker who made delicious bread and cinnamon rolls that would leave you craving more.   She loved visiting thrift shops or yard sales and was already ready for a ride to town or exploring dirt roads.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents (August and Edna), her sisters (Mae and Violet), her husband (Charles), and her daughters (Charlene and Ruth Ann).   She is survived by her son (Billy), 8 grandchildren, and 20 great grandchildren.

Services will be held Friday, September 1st, 2023 at 11:00am with a brief ceremony at San Pedro Baptist Church (4670 N Dudleyville Rd, Dudleyville AZ 85192) followed by a light luncheon and celebration of life.
