In Loving Memory of Christopher Anthony Quiroz

Christopher Anthony “Chris” Quiroz, 64, passed away on August 15, 2026, in Twin Falls, Idaho. Chris was born on April 19, 1962, in Tucson, Arizona, He leaves behind a lifetime of memories, laughter, and love that will forever remain in the hearts of his family and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Chris was born to his parents, Flora Selleck (Arthur) Ramirez and Tony “Freddy” Rossini Quiroz. He was a proud graduate of Hayden High School and spent many years of his life in the Winkelman, Mammoth, and San Manuel areas. These communities were more than places Chris lived, they were part of who he was and held many of the memories and relationships he treasured throughout his life.

Chris came from the pioneer Selleck family, whose roots run deep in Arizona history. His great-great-uncle, Dudley, is the namesake of the community of Dudleyville. This connection to Arizona's history is a special part of his family's story and is a legacy that continues through the generations.

Chris was a hardworking man who dedicated 30 years of his life to a career in the mining industry. His career reflected the strength, determination, and work ethic that were such an important part of both his character and the communities in which he was raised.

Outside of work, Chris had a special love for the Gila River. He enjoyed fishing, being outdoors, and spending time near the river. He was also a talented distance runner and had a love for running that remained an important part of who he was.

Perhaps more than anything, Chris will be remembered for his incredible sense of humor. He loved to joke, laugh, tell stories, and make the people around him smile. There was rarely a dull moment when he was around. Whether he was telling a story, teasing someone he loved, or simply enjoying time with family and friends, Chris had a way of making ordinary moments memorable. His humor and personality left behind countless stories that will continue to bring smiles and laughter even as he is deeply missed.

Chris was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Flora Selleck Ramirez; his fathers, Tony “Freddy” Rossini Quiroz and Arthur Ramirez; his aunts, Grace Marin, Caroline Solano and Alma Solano; his uncles, James Selleck Jr. and Arnold Lorona; as well as cousins and other loved ones who passed before him.

Of all the things Chris accomplished throughout his 64 years, nothing was more important than the family he leaves behind.

Chris is survived by his children, Lachelle Huffman (Binh), Vanessa Quiroz, Chris Quiroz Jr. (Amber), Mathew Quiroz, Connor Quiroz, Steven Quiroz, and Adam Quiroz.

He was a grandfather to Paul, Nathaniel, Christopher, Michael, Brionna, Brooklynn, Jacob, and Bella, each of whom will carry a piece of his legacy into the next generation.

Chris is also survived by his previous wife, Barbara Quiroz; his brothers, Joe, Ronnie (Irene), and Mark (Gloria); and his sisters, Monica (Jose), Anna, and Arlene. He also leaves behind many extended family members, friends, and loved ones who were fortunate enough to share in his life.

Although his family is deeply saddened by his passing, there will always be places that remind us of him. A familiar stretch of Arizona road. The sound of the Gila River. A fishing line in the water. A long run beneath the Arizona sky.

The miles may have ended, but his journey continues through every story we tell, every memory we share, and every piece of him that lives on through his family.

Dad…you will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.

A viewing honoring the life of Christopher Anthony Quiroz will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Griffith Mortuary in Kearny, Arizona.

Following the viewing, Chris will be laid to rest next to his mom at Mountain View Cemetery in Hayden, Arizona.
