Doris Mildred Holcomb Colby (1938-2023)

Doris Mildred Holcomb Colby, 85, of Dudleyville, AZ, entered eternal life in Gilbert, Arizona on December 29th, 2023.

She was born in Oatman, AZ on October 30th, 1938 to Carl and Margaret Hagen. Doris graduated from Hayden High School in 1957. She managed the hardware and convenience store "Diamond J" from 1968 until 1997. Her passion was being a homemaker, mother, and Nanie. Her life was about service, both within her family and within her community. She served over 80 families each month, right up until her death, always giving of her love and a special baked good or jam. Doris thoroughly enjoyed attending all of her grandkid's events, from sports to piano recitals and racing to dance performances. She loved to cheer them all on, no matter what their interest was.

Doris was preceded in death by her 1st husband Donald Holcomb, Sr., her parents Carl, John, and Margaret Hagen, sister Esther Hagan, and great-granddaughter Melody Marshall; and is survived by her husband, Edwin Colby; son Donald (Rose) Holcomb, Jr; daughters, Carla (Kenny) Holcomb, Charlotte (Danny) LaMar, and Debra (Dale) Pace; sisters Mary Larman, Bernice Heck, and Pamela (Chatter) Martinez.

Services will be at 10am with visitation at 9:30am, Saturday, January 6th, 2024 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 200 Hammond Drive, Kearny, AZ. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery in Hayden, AZ.
