Elizabeth Caballero Yanez (Princess) was called home to Heaven March 10, 2024 surrounded by her daughters Janette, Jeannie and Granddaughter Jennifer in her home in Superior.  Elizabeth was 88, born November 10, 1935 in Phoenix AZ to her parents Jose Caballero and Felicitas Caldera Caballero.

Elizabeth was a resident of Sonora, Winkelman and Superior AZ.

Elizabeth is preceded in death by her Honey Darling Peter "Peachie" Yanez,  son Pedro Joseph Yanez, daughter Mary Esther Yanez, parents Jose and Felicitas Caballero, brothers Pedro Caldera Castruita, Frank Lopez, Joseph Patrick Caballero, Rudy Rodriguez and sisters Sally Munoz, Alicia Santillan, Mildred Dutton, Gloria King, Josephine Caballero, Rosemary Mahoney and Celia Caballero.

Elizabeth was passionate about her Catholic faith she was a member of the Tucson Spanish Speaking Apostolate, the Liturgical Committee, the Altar Society, she was a Pastoral Care Volunteer at FCI Tucson Federal Bureau of Prisons, and a member of the Educational Congress Committee.  She was commissioned as Eucharistic Minister in 1987 and served as Lectora for the Cursillo Movement. She devoted her time supporting the Youth Ministry, the Search program and taught Catechism to local Catholic children.  She loved bible studies, working retreats and Cursillos.

Elizabeth is very well known for her beautiful works of art "Princess Quilts and Pillows" in 1985 she began making Holly Hobby and Clown quilts for her Grandchildren.  Soon the quilts artwork shifted to Sports, Disney, Precious Moments, Deftones, Hayden Lobos, Superior Panthers and so many more.  Elizabeth made an estimated 2000 quilts from 1985 to 2024.

Elizabeth is survived by her daughters Janette Cruz (Sonny) Jeannie Castaneda (Art), Anna Garcia (Edward), Liza Clark (Howard) and Pat Placencio 18 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.

Nani you are loved beyond words, Momma you will be missed beyond measure.

We are thankful to Marisa Rodriquez and Kaylee Gardner (Savior Hospice and Palliative Care) who provided such kind, comforting care and friendship to our Momma/Nani. You'll be forever in our hearts.

Graveside Services will be held at Fairview Cemetery 300 West Sunset Drive, Superior, AZ om April 19, 2024 at 11:00 A.M.
