Our cherished Eugene (Gene) V. Edgmon, age 92, very quietly and peacefully left our world in Mesa, Arizona and entered pain free to dance and rejoice in the presence of God on January 4, 2023. Gene was born 4/18/1930 in Murray County, Oklahoma to parents John W. and Mattie Octavia (Franks) Edgmon.

Gene will always be remembered as a very loving, kind and gentle man who touched many lives. He grew up working on a farm in Oklahoma and hunting with his brothers and his hound dawgs. He moved to Arizona in 1950 and joined his brothers working on a dairy farm until he went to Superior and started underground in the copper mines. Eugene worked underground and became a foreman in Superior's copper mine and later finished his career as Manager of mines in Indonesia.

Gene was always grinning and sharing jokes or stories of "when I was a kid…" with all his grandkids and great grandkids.

Gene leaves behind a wife of 73 years, Louise (Mays) Edgmon and three daughters, Carolyn Aparicio, Beverly Edgmon, and Zella (Rick) Muro. Also seven Grandchildren, Carrie (Anthony) Magana, Ricky (Stephanie Ramirez) Muro, Leo  (Silvia) Aparicio Jr., Eugene (Laure) Muro, Cristi (Steve) Passley, Suzie (Josh) Squires, and Hector (Nini) Aparicio, and 23 great grandchildren. Eugene also leaves behind one sister Zella (Roy) Tyler in Oklahoma.

Gene was preceded in death by his son Eugene V. Edgmon Jr., his mom and dad, Octavia and John Edgmon and six siblings.

Gene leaves a void in our lives and will be missed terribly but we find comfort in knowing we are better because he was in our lives and is now is at peace and is surrounded by God and loved ones in Heaven.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Alzheimer's or Hospice of the Valley.
