Fidel L. Gonzales, 76, of Kearny, passed way in Mesa, AZ with his family at his side on Thursday, February 9, 2023. Fidel was a devoted husband, father, and grandpa.

Fidel was born in Solomon, AZ on April 24, 1946 to parents Julio and Rita (Lopez) Gonzales. Fidel was a Vietnam Veteran and served in the Armed Forces from January 1966 – January 1968. After he was discharged, he married Lorraine Tellez and the spent 54 years together. The settled down in Kearny, AZ where Fidel worked and retired as a boilermaker for ASARCO at the Ray Mine. Together they raised a daughter, Laura and son, Paul.

Fidel is preceded in death by his parents, Julio and Rita Gonzales, brothers Vincent and David Gonzales and 3 half siblings.

Fidel is survived by his wife, Lorraine Gonzales, daughter Laura Gonzales, son Paul (Terri) Gonzales, and 3 grandsons, Diego, Santiago, and Pablo. He also leaves behind 2 brothers, Louie Gonzales and Monie Gonzales, 3 sisters, Cruzita (Pete) Bejarano, Lydia Aragon, and Mary Vasquez.
