Fortino A. Alvarado, 90, passed away peacefully on September 18, 2024. He was born in Superior, AZ, on October 25, 1933, to Fortino and Josefina (Aguilar) Alvarado. He had six brothers and two sisters. On August 25, 1957, he married Consuelo Padilla of Superior, AZ. He had two children, Christina and Robert.

Tino (Boney) spent most of his life in Superior, AZ. He served in the U.S. Army from 1953-1955. After returning from the Army, Tino worked and retired from the Magma Copper Company when they closed in 1982. He went on to work for Banner Health before retiring for good. He loved coaching and watching his son and grandchildren play sports, reading the newspaper, gardening, watching sports on television, and volunteering. In his younger days, he would take the Mrs. dancing every week because it made her happy. He dedicated his golden years to taking care of her.

He is survived by his son Robert (Monique), 8 grandchildren; Rodisha, Robert, Aaron, Jennifer, Tenisha, Nikki, Tamika, and Matthew, 24 great grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren. Sisters Carmen Pacheco, Ramona Estrada, brothers Raymond Alvarado, and Ernesto Ramirez.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Connie, daughter Tina and brothers Romulo Alvarado, Rafael Alvarado, Manuel Alvarado, and baby Rafael.

Tata, you will be missed. We are comforted knowing you are with your sweetheart. May you rest in peace. We love you mucho mucho.

Services will be on September 27th at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Superior, AZ. 9:00 am viewing, 9:30 am rosary, and 10:00 am mass. After mass, the final resting place will be at the Fairview Cemetery.
