George Theone Biggs was born to John Theone and Rosetta Irene Huntsman Biggs on July 13, 1936 in Farmington, New Mexico. He was the eldest of 7 children; (Johnny, Richard (R.J.), Michael, Andrea, Lane, and Eric).

He participated in church activities, ran track, played basketball, was considered one of the best place kickers in the state in football and was offered scholarships in football and academics. He turned down the scholarships and went to work in the mining industry. He married Zina Lodema Harrelson Biggs on November 9th 1956; they had 6 children; Ron (Lynn), Ernie, Cindy (Dan Willems), Teresa (Allen Smitch), Suzana (Bill Battaglia), and James (Amy). He has 26 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.

He served in the National Guard for a short time. He worked in New Mexico, Colorado, California, and Arizona. He was a master carpenter and helped build the LDS Stake Center in Globe, Arizona as well as many of the homes in the area. Even when a stroke affected his ability to see he continued to create a few more woodworking pieces to share with his family attending the Utah School of the Blind. He had such a love of working with wood and was a talented artist passing on his abilities to his descendants. He also loved photography, drawing, painting, being outside gardening, panning for gold, creating jewelry and just enjoying the beauty of nature around him. As an adult he took classes of interest at Gila Community College. But he always had time for a good book!

He has held many church callings over the years which he served with his whole heart. He was the maintenance engineer for the Globe Arizona Stake tending to all the church buildings in the area for many years. If you mention George Biggs, you hear such words as; "sweet, funny, kind, helpful, pleasant, generous, and a man of integrity." Growing up his children and grandchildren never saw anyone in need be turned away - they saw him step away from what he was doing to help. Despite situations you did not hear him murmur and judge others.

As he continues the next step in his progression with his sweet eternal partner Zina - George will truly be missed by all those privileged to have known him.
