George A. Gates Born in Portales, NM 11/28/1944- Passed away at Cobre Valley Hospital in Globe, AZ 02/12/2022.

He is survived by his significant other, Janie Martinez.  His son Stephen Gates and his family Beth, Kody, and Genevieve Gates. His 3 sisters, Mary Jo Hollinhead, Dortha Greenwalt and Donna Gates and many nieces and nephews.

George graduated from Globe High School, shortly after school he went into the Air Force and traveled with them till retiring in 1987.  George was the exalted ruler at one time at the Elks in Globe.  He worked at Heritage as head maintenance for a while.  He loved antique cars.  Enjoyed playing cards.  But more than anything, he loved his family and friends.

He is greatly missed by all of us.  There will be a private celebration of life later.  I love you my big brother. I miss you with every breath I take.
