HENRIETTA SALAS GOMEZ

It is with heartfelt sadness that we share the passing of Henrietta Salas Gomez. Henrietta was born on November 28 ^th , 1928, in Globe Arizona. She passed from this life on December 12 ^th , 2022, in Tucson Arizona after a short illness. Preceding Henrietta in passing is her husband Mike, her son Johnnie, her son in law Rene, and her grandson John Michael. Henrietta is survived by 3 children, 11 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, and 24 great great grandchildren.

Henrietta was raised by her parents Manuela and Mauro Salas in Ruiz Canyon. While an only child she shared her childhood years with many cousins and friends.

After graduating from Globe High School Henrietta met and married her life partner Mike Gomez in 1947. Together they had four children, Yolanda (Rene) Velasco, John, Stella (Don) Manspeaker, and Thomas (Carol).

Mike and Henrietta did their best to provide for their family during the many ups and downs of life in a copper town. Often providing help to their children and grandchildren during times of need.

Henrietta was also active in the community as a member of the VFW Women's Auxiliary, and American Legion.

She will always be remembered for her great sense of humor, funny stories and the ability to see beauty in the simple things of life. Granny Goose, as she was known by her grandchildren and great grandchildren will be deeply missed and warmly remembered.

She now rests in the hands of our Lord waiting to be reunited with us again.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday December 29 ^th at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic church in Miami AZ. Viewing at 9:00 AM, Rosary at 9:30, and Mass at 10:00 AM. Interment to follow at Mountain Breeze Cemetery. Reception to follow at the church. In lieu of flowers please send donations to Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Church in Miami AZ.
