Hortencia B. Gonzales entered her eternal home on Sunday, July 9, 2023, at the age of 97. Hortencia was born on July 6, 1926, in Hayden, Arizona.  She was the eldest of Six children born to Lucas and Sara Baldenegro.

In September of 1946, she married the love of her life, Juaquin Gonzales. They were blessed with 70 years of marriage. Throughout their marriage they were committed to each other, they opened their home to friends and family.  They enjoyed camping, road trips and the great outdoors.  Most importantly Juaquin and Hortencia showed all who knew them what a marriage should be.

Hortencia loved spending time with family and friends, sewing, reading westerns, tending to her plants, and making sure all who entered her home were nourished with love and her amazing cooking.  Hortencia will forever be remembered for her generous heart, love of her family and unwavering faith and devotion to God.  She was a loving mother, nana, sister, and friend.

Hortencia was preceded in death by her husband Juaquin, son, Gene, Siblings Rafael Baldenegro, Paulina Romero, Edward "Nicky" Baldenegro and son in-law Richard Martinez.

Hortencia is survived by her children, Maria, Juaquin "Jackie", Sara, Amelia, daughter in-law Robyn, eight grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and two siblings, Sara "Cheri" Martinez, and Rodolfo "Clody" Baldenegro.
