Jesse Barboa Sanchez, 86, of San Manuel, Arizona, passed away following a brief illness on October 13, 2023. He was born in Clarkdale, Arizona, as the 12th child (of 14) to Francisco Castillo Sanchez and Josefa Barboa Sanchez.  He spent his early years growing up in the Clarkdale area with his large family before moving to Superior, Arizona for work, where he met and married the love of his life, Connie Casillas.

Together they raised six children: one daughter and five sons.  Their great sense of humor was a legacy for their children and many days were spent laughing and joking around.

When his children were still young, Jesse moved his family to San Manuel, Arizona to work at Magma refinery.  Their roots ran deep in this little community where they have lived in the same house for more than 50 years.

After working just a few months shy of 40 years for Magma/BHP, Jesse retired and spent his last years enjoying the company of his wife, Connie, their children, and grandchildren. He cherished the time spent with his family and created many lasting memories.

Jesse was known for his amazing ability to share financial planning advice whether you asked for it or not.  He was also known for several of his favorite sayings including,
"It's a dog eat dog world!"
"Another day, another dollar down the drain!"
"Hotcakes for breakfast!"
"Okey-dokey Smokey"
"Happy Landings"
We'll find out soon about this one,
"You're no longer in my will!"
And this one that sadly came true, "Here today, gone today!"

Jesse was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, brother, cousin and friend.  He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Connie Sanchez, their children: Rose Marie  Sanchez, (Lynn), Jesse "Jay" Sanchez, (Angie), David (Dawn) Sanchez,  John (Angela) Sanchez, and Mark "Cheetos" Sanchez, (Venessa), 21 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his son, Richard "Beatle" Sanchez, several siblings, and his parents.

A memorial service to celebrate Jesse's life will be held on Saturday, October 21st, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church located at 122 Church Dr, Mammoth, AZ 85618. The rosary will commence at 1:30 pm, followed by a mass at 2 pm. Burial will take place at Mammoth Valley Cemetery, with a reception to follow at the Church Hall.

Jesse Barboa Sanchez will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
