Our mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend Jo Ann Milam, age 74, passed away

peacefully surrounded by her loved ones in Elko, Nevada on March 2, 2022. Jo Ann was born in

Globe, Arizona on March 7, 1947, to Clarence and Gilda Carter. Jo Ann attended Miami High

School graduating in 1965 and shortly after marrying her high school sweetheart, Bennie A.

Milam. Together Ben and Jo Ann had three children, sons John, Troy, and Steven. They made

their home in Miami, Arizona and raised a wonderful family together.

Jo Ann was preceded in death by her parents Gilda Carter and Clarence Carter, husband

Bennie A. Milam, her son, Steven Milam who she wonderfully referred to as "her rock", and her

sisters Deborah Carter and Jeanette Weathers.

Jo Ann is survived by her sons John W. (Karla) Milam and Troy Milam, her brother Larry R.

(Juana) Carter, four grandchildren John (Michelle) Milam, Alicia (James) Brown, Hope (Shawn)

Norberg, and Stacy (Gabe) Dixon. She leaves behind seven great-grandchildren who meant the

world to her.

Jo Ann will be remembered by all as someone who loved her family deeply and would do

anything she could to make sure they were taken care of.

Services will be April 9, 2022, at 10:00am in Globe, Arizona at Bulman-Miles Funeral Services, 237 S. Sutherland St. Globe, Arizona 85501
