Jonathan Hammer's Obituary
On the morning of Saturday December 31st, 2022 Jonathan "Jon" Hammer passed away at the age of 54.
Jon was born to Joe and Naomi Hammer in 1968 in Carlsbad, NM.
They were Evangelists so he got to see a lot of the United States at different times. He loved the beauty of Oregon where his family stayed for over three years when he was a teenager.
He was homeschooled after 6th grade. He later studied gunsmithing and reloading and got certified as a gunsmith.
Anything to do with guns was his passion. He loved reloading for himself and others. He learned to cast bullets, and balls for muskets and he loved every minute of it. He loved going to the rifle range and trying out his new reloads. He was passionate about gun ownership also.
He was single at the time of his death but had previously been married twice. He and his first wife had four daughters together, Alexandria, Keisha, Natashia and Audriana. His second wife had four children -three boys and one girl - which he accepted as his own.
He is survived by all eight children, his mother, Naomi, his sister, Elizabeth and many cousins, nieces, nephews aunts and uncles.
He is preceded in death by his father Joe, his maternal and paternal grandparents, and several aunts and uncles.
He was a very outgoing person and had a heart of gold hidden behind a sometimes gruff exterior. He would help anybody in need if he possibly could and expected nothing in return. He had a wide range of knowledge so he could help people in numerous ways.
He hated drawing attention to himself. For this reason he did not want a funeral or a memorial service so we are going to honor his wishes. If any of his friends want to have their own version of honoring his memory they may do so.
He will be greatly missed!"
