Juanita Lavon Aston

Juanita was born on Tuesday, October 22, 1935 to David and Helen (Cassity) Lewis at a ranch on Highway 60, the fourth child of seven.  She and her siblings walked or rode donkeys to the bus stop on Hwy 60 throughout their school years.  Juanita quit school in her sophomore year and went to work at Uptons where she met the love of her life Morris Aston, who was in the U.S. Air Force at that time.  They went on to have three children; David, Sherrie and Robert (Bob).  Morris kept her busy throughout their life together building houses in Kellner Canyon, gold mining in Montana, gemstone mining in California, helping others in need, and enjoying being grandparents.  They were lifetime members of the Globe-Miami Gem & Mineral Society, and more important, members of the Miami church of Christ.  In her last few years she was cared for by grandchildren, Shannon and Johnny Sullivan; also other grandchildren Wade Taylor and Christina Haynie.  She leaves behind her children Sherrie (Bob) Zufelt of Moab, Utah, Robert (Debra) Aston of Inyokern, California, and her sister Carole (Roy) Gould of Maine.  Juanita was preceded in death by her son David Aston, her parents, sisters Mary Helen (Buggy) Skelly, Pat Wagnon, and brothers Davey Lewis, Wayne Lewis, James Lewis, and three grandchildren.  Juanita and Morris are survived by 18 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren, 20 great great grandchildren.  Those old-timers who knew her also knew her as "Starchy".  There were many special people in her life.
