Kathy Louyse (Phoenix) Coleman left this earthly life on February 14, 2022.  She was born to Leonard and Loyse Phoenix in Springfield MO on June 8, 1957.  Kathy married Lynn Coleman on June 14, 1974, and they had four children together and were married for 29 years and later divorced.  She was a devoted mother to, Brian (Jennifer) Coleman of Kearny AZ, Brad (Heather) Coleman of West Jordan UT, Katrina (Jason) Kreps of La Jara CO, and Mindy (Jon) Fry of Rexburg ID.  She also loved her 20 grandchildren and was so proud of them.  Jeron (Elle), Chandler, Blake (Jayden), Jeannette, Carson, Dallin, Cody, Lee, Merak, Kayson, Bria, Sophie, CJ, Emma, Trista, Cam, Travin, Lyssa, Liam, and Kyra will all miss their grandma dearly.

Kathy raised her children in southern Colorado on the farm.  She helped out on the farm whether it was pulling weeds in the potato fields or driving a tractor and plow.  One thing that she was really good at was driving a potato truck under the harvester boom.  She did this for many years and any harvester driver will tell you she was one of the best.  This experience operating equipment led to her most recent job of driving a haul truck at the Ray Mine in Kearny AZ.  She enjoyed her job and the many friends that she worked with there.

Kathy also spent a lot of time volunteering and helping the youth and also served as a member of the Kearny ELKS organization.  She was a leader for the young women's program in her church as well as spent many years coaching the cheer and dance teams for the high school that her kids attended.  As a loving mother, she attended many cross-country meets, basketball games, and track meets to support her children.  They can each tell you that her voice stood out above the rest of the cheers.  She also had a whistle that each would recognize from anywhere and knew that it was time to come running.

Kathy loved all that she knew and would do anything to help them.  She always had a smile on her face and made others feel better.  She didn't know a stranger and was always willing to lend a listening ear.  She will be greatly missed by all that knew her.

Kathy is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Eddie and Mike, and survived by her sisters Carla and Karen as well as her children and grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A memorial service for Kathy will be held on February 19, 2022, at 11 am, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Kearny, Arizona.  All are invited to attend and express the love they shared for Kathy.  Interment will be held in Springfield, Missouri at a later date.
