Globe, AZ Leslie Harland (Pete) Shaffer 56 passed away Dec. 1, 2021, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Phoenix. With his wife Renea by his side, daughter Ashley, son in law Scottie, and oldest grandson Dawson nearby. Pete was born in Sturgis, MI to Leslie Dale (Ld) Shaffer & Sharon Kay (Slack) Shaffer along with stepmom Betty Shaffer at the age of 11 he grew up living in the Branch County areas in MI. After high school Pete got a job working at Acorn where he worked in the paint room. Dec. 14, 1985, he married the love of his life Renea Violet (Wilder) Shaffer together they bought their first farmhouse in Quincy, MI. Together they had two children Justin Harland Shaffer & Ashley Renea (Shaffer) Harris. In 1993 they moved to FL where Pete worked as maintenance at Days Inn while going to Withlacoochee Technical College. Where he became an ASE certified mechanic going on to work at Tire Kingdom working his way up to Manager. With the kids moving on with their lives in 2009 they moved to Globe, AZ to be with Renea's parents, their son & family and daughter & family moving shortly after. Pete has worked at AutoZone, Napa, Hill top motors. Where Troy sold J & S Towing along with Pete to Jerry & Justin Fountain, where they became like brothers. They worked side by side until he had a heart attack in July. Pete was a longtime member of the American Legion. Pete made so many dear friends along the way and he held them all close to his heart. He loved spending time with his family, going places and just being together. Watching them play sports and little Ashlyn with her dance. Teaching them how to work together. In 2012, after their son passed, they adopted his three children with the help of their daughter Ashley & son in law (Scottie Harris) they kept the family close together. Pete is survived by his wife Renea of 35 years coming so close to 36 years on Dec.14. His Daughter Ashley Renea (Shaffer) Harris his wonderful grandkids Dawson, Macarrhea, Kayden, Mariah, Carter & Ashlyn. His Dad Leslie (Ld), Stepmother Betty, his sister's Beth Feuer, Marla (Phil) Fuchs, brother Stephen Shaffer & family, his brother-in-law John A. (Barb) Wilder Jr., Sister-in-law Brenda L. (Roland) Smith. Stepbrothers Chip & Marty, stepsister's Rose, Renee, Dee, & spouses. So many aunts, uncles, cousins, his nieces & nephews which he held them all so dear to his heart. Preceded in death by his brother Michael James, his son Justin Harland & mom Sharon.  Cremation will be under the direction of Bulman Miles Funeral Services Globe, Az.
