Melvin LeRoy Price

Melvin LeRoy Price passed away peacefully at home Monday morning, August 16, 2021 at the age of 80 surrounded by his loving family.  He was called home to heaven at sunrise to fish with the master of the Lakes.

LeRoy was born April 8, 1941 in Poplar Bluff, Missouri to Melvin and Nola Price.  He spent most of his childhood in Waverley, Tennessee before moving to the Miami – Globe area during his junior year in high school.   After graduation he served in the Army and later attended school in the valley for computer programing.  His love for the Miami – Globe area brought him back where he lived for over 60 years.  He worked as a Locomotive Mechanic until his retirement.  Growing up he loved to fish, hunt and trap, this love continued his entire life.  He fished tournaments all over the country coming home with many trophies.  He also has many records in the hunting record book for Arizona.  He loved helping around his community taking youth fishing, coaching T-ball, starting up a local Bass Fishing club.  He loved fishing, hunting, camping, traveling and spending time with family and friends.

LeRoy was a very loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great-Grandfather, Brother, Uncle, Cousin and Friend.  He was much loved and will be missed by all who knew him.  He is survived by his daughters Tina (William) Nixon, Tammy (Kenneth) Bruce; his son Justin (Candice) Price; eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, brother and sister.  LeRoy was preceded in death by the love of his life Cassie of 52 years and his parents Melvin and Nola Price.
