Margaret Santa Cruz passed away early morning on June 16, 2023, in her home in Las Vegas, Nevada. Her immediate family was so fortunate to have celebrated her 84th Birthday with her here on earth in April. Margaret was a beautiful, spiritual, and strong woman with a huge Heart that Loved deeply. She lived an incredibly full life and left her indelible mark on every life she touched. She was self-educated and read everything she could get her hands on, including the newspaper every day. She was very compassionate and charitable. She would send a check to almost any cause that provided her an envelope. She wore many hats throughout her years. . . bartender, heavy equipment operator in the mill at Magma Copper Mine, and Detention Officer with the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office, to name a few. Her finest role was being a Mother, who as a single mother raised five strong independent daughters, and in turn raised strong independent granddaughters, and the blood-line continues. Margaret had many dogs and birds throughout the years that she loved dearly and that returned the sentiment. Her surviving precious pets are Zeezee,  Rambo, and her cockatiels. She will be joined with her beloved dogs, Sancho and Buster. Her biggest passion was food, her biggest regret; she could no longer dance. Now she finally can dance with the angels.

Margaret is predeceased by her parents, Roy & Esperanza Santa Cruz; her brothers, Roy Santa Cruz, Jr., Charles Santa Cruz, Robert Santa Cruz, and sister, Avelia Santa Cruz Rubio, and her grandson, Lance Pedro.

Margaret is survived by her sister, Ana Tiscareno, daughters; Cynthia Armijo, Catherine Serna Downey, Gloria Serna Garrett (Oscar), Yvonne Serna, and Sonya "Mia" Pedro (John); grandchildren, Valerie Lopez (Javier), Davina Cantrell (Elliott), Orlando Moreno (Jenn), Charisma Pursell (Brett), Gitana Beier (Matthias), Mariano Pedro, and Liliana Pedro; great-grandchildren, Aubriana Vargas (Chad), Jillian Alvarez (Jesus), Brittany Garcia, Adrianne Drewniak (Juliana), Avery Drewniak, Roman Marsh, Aiden Pursell, Galarina Beier, Matthew Lopez, and Amaris Lopez; great-great grandchildren, Cruz Vargas, Caliana Vargas, Vicente Alvarez, and many nieces and nephews.

Margaret is returning to Superior, Arizona, where she was born and raised. "Yes, it was MY WAY." Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 30, 2023, as follows: Mass - 3:00 p.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Church, gravesite burial - 5:00 p.m. at Fairview Cemetery, and 6:00 p.m. - celebration of life at Los Hermanos Restaurant & Lounge, Superior, Arizona.
