Marilyn Jean Chase died on April 11, 2024 in Mesa, AZ. She was married to Leland D. Chase for 47
wonderful and wonder-filled years. Leland (Lee) preceded her in death, passing in 1992. Marilyn was
born Marilyn Jean McFarland in New Hampton, IA on May 7, 1926. She is survived by four children:
Niann (Nancy) Chase, Linda Muns, Susan Chase and Doug Chase. She is also survived by fourteen
grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Marilyn and Lee loved Arizona's geology and natural beauty. Most Chase family activities involved
picnics, boating on San Carlos Lake or camping throughout the state and Southwest.
Marilyn was actively involved with St. Paul's United Methodist Church and the Globe church community
for decades after moving into "town" from San Carlos. She relocated to Mesa in 2013 to live with her
daughter Susan.
