It is with great sadness that the family of Mario R. Lopez announces his sudden passing on Wednesday, January 1, 2020, at the age of 54. Mario was preceded in death by his father, Paul (Poli) Lopez, his grandparents: Fernando & Jessie Obregon, and Rita Lopez. Mario will forever be remembered and loved by his mother, Margie Lopez (Superior, AZ), brothers/sisters: Paul Lopez (Juneau, AK), Art/Cheese (Laura) Lopez (Superior), Ysela Lopez (Superior), Rose Mary Obregon (Tucson, AZ), David Lopez  (San Francisco, CA); his children: Alicia Lopez (Gilbert, AZ), Mario Jr (Sonia) Lopez, (Arizona City), Nia Lopez (Mesa, AZ), Isaiah Lopez (Apache Junction, AZ) and Marisela Lopez (Superior), 8 grandchildren, 18 nieces/nephews as well as numerous uncles/aunts and cousins. He is also survived by his other mother , Corrie Alvarado, his brothers/friends David (Marie) Alvarado (Mesa, AZ) and Ronnie Rivera (Elk Grove, CA). Mario loved his family and always wished he had more time to spend with his kids. He loved the outdoors and was a great storyteller; he especially loved telling stories from his past adventures. He was anxiously awaiting the birth of his 9th grandson. His first great grandchild is due to be born in August, (unannounced to him prior to his passing).
