Mervin Dale Fuller

January 10, 1934 - August 19, 2022

Mervin (Merv) Dale Fuller was born January 10, 1934 and passed away peacefully at home on August 19, 2022 with family by his side. He leaves behind his wife of 68 years, Caryl Faye Fuller (Muir), son Stacy Fuller (Sue), daughters Kathy Dunn (Les) and Kristi Gayle (Ross), sister Roberta Brand (Lt. Col. Al), brother-in-law John (Grace), 9 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, and 2 great, great grandchildren.

Merv was born on January 10, 1934 in Mesa, Arizona to Perry Fuller and Norma Fuller (Martin).  At the young age of sixteen, he met the first and only love of his life, Caryl. They were married on November 27, 1953.  He never hesitated to share how lucky he was to have her as his sweetheart and would light up as he talked about their love.

He joined the US Navy on his 17th birthday.  Following training in San Diego he was stationed in Hawaii where he transported families to the USS Arizona. He returned to San Diego and remained there until he was honorably discharged with three and one-half years of service. It was here that he married Caryl and they welcomed their first daughter, Kathy.  They returned to Arizona and were again blessed with a son, Stacy, and daughter, Kristi.  For brief periods they opened their home to Allen and Ruthie Mayo while their parents Rev. Wallace and Betty Mayo served as missionaries in the Philippines.  Merv and Caryl always felt like second parents to them.

Upon completion of welding school, Merv went to work for Inspiration Consolidated Copper Co as a welder and retired 30 years later. He enjoyed many hobbies outside of work and spent many Saturday nights racing at the Globe-Miami Speedway. He became a pilot, purchased a Cessna Cardinal and enjoyed his time in the air. The garage was an extension of his home.  He spent many hours with friends and family working on race cars, building T-buckets, an old Cadillac, and his beloved Packard.  Later in life, he enjoyed working on and flying remote controlled airplanes.

Most importantly, Merv accepted the Lord into his heart.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Perry and Norma Fuller, brother, Pete Fuller and sister, Norma Lee Wusich.

Services were entrusted to Bulman Miles Funeral Services in Globe, Arizona.
