Michael Wayne Loyd, born on July 17, 1955, at the USAF hospital in Amarillo, Texas, to Jessie Clyde Loyd and Joyce Lenora Loyd (née Stringer), passed away peacefully at home in Globe, Arizona, on December 26, 2024, surrounded by family.

Michael honorably served his country in the U.S. Army, enlisting in October 1974 and receiving an Honorable Discharge. Throughout his life, he demonstrated remarkable skill and dedication across various trades, including mechanics, masonry, flooring, and most recently as an electrician for the local smelter. Despite his hard work and versatility, Michael always made time for those he cared about most.

A passionate outdoorsman, Michael found solace in hunting and fishing. He was known for his sharp wit—dark and clever—and his generous heart. Those who knew him remember him as a man who would give selflessly to anyone in need. His children hold cherished memories of his love and guidance: Sean admired him as a role model and confidant, while Darcy described him as her rock and her world for so long.

Michael is survived by his son, Sean Loyd (Amanda); daughter, Darcy Wolf (Tucker); four beloved grandchildren: Noah, Evie, Emmi, and Michael; as well as his brothers Richard Loyd (Roberta); Cass Mitchell (Lisa), sister Patti Thibodeaux and numerous extended family members, including nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles. He was preceded in death by his father, Jessie Loyd; mother, Joyce Mitchell; stepfather Laurel Mitchell; brothers Jessie Jr and Pat as well as a sisters Linda and Jeanie.

Michael's legacy endures through the countless memories he created with those fortunate enough to know him. May his memory bring comfort to all who loved him.
