Michael Tipton, age 87, passed away on April 21, 2025, at Northwest Hospital in Tucson, Arizona.
Michael was born on October 31, 1937, in Bridgeport, Texas, to the late George Howell and Velma Carpenter. Michael is survived by his sisters, Della Roop and Marilyn Wooley of California. Two sons, Gary Scott Howell and Gary Don Howell, and daughter, Donna Sue Howell, and stepsons, Steve and Dennis Halvorson. And stepdaughter Sandy Walston. Many grandchildren, step-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and many grand and great-grand nephews and nieces. Too many to name. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy (Dot) Gren, for over 39 years. Stepdaughter Jenny Homan and stepdaughter Cynthia Martinez. He enlisted in the US Army in 1953 and served in Germany. He was an electrician and worked at the Asarco Copper/Hayden, Arizona Plant for 40 years and retired at age 75. He was a tough guy but had lots of heart. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved to explore the mountains with his late wife, Dorothy. He loved spending time with the grandkids and bringing them ice cream. There will be a gathering in Kearny, Arizona, at Dennis and Rose Halvorson's home following the Burial.
