Myrtle Othella Harmon, age 102, of Miami Arizona, passed away on September 9 th at the West Wing Adult Care Facility in Peoria Arizona. Myrtle was born on February 16 th, 1917 in Howell Texas, the daughter of Mary (Chaney) and Lemuel Harmon. The middle child of 8 children, she had 5 brothers and 2 sisters. The Harmon family moved to Cache Oklahoma where she met and married Carl Cecil Harmon in 1935. They were together for 72 years until his death in 2007 at age 94. Myrtle and Carl had 4-year-old daughter Carlene moved to Miami in 1940and had son Douglas there. Myrtle worked several places until the mid-70's including the YMCA, the ICCCO store, the commercial store and Pete's Country store. She then became a homemaker and babysitter for her grandchildren. Myrtle belonged to the Eastern Star, served as Mother to Rainbow Girls and became a member of the United Methodist Church in Claypool. Myrtle loved her dogs and cats and treated them like family. She loved the mountains and being outdoors and fishing. Myrtle was very much loved by her family who was happy to have "NANA" for such a long wonderful time. Myrtle Harmon leaves behind daughter Carlene Kidd of Miami, Arizona, son Douglas Leon Harmon of Sun city, Arizona 5 grandchildren and spouses, 6 great grandchildren and spouses and 6 great great-grandchildren.
