Patrick Padilla Contreras, 89, was born on March 17, 1935, in Superior, Arizona and sadly left us on July 3, 2024. After graduating from Superior High School, he proudly served as a U.S. Marine, and reached the rank of Sargent. He retired from Magma Copper Company (BHP) as a supervisor at the mill plant. He also worked at the Florence Immigration Center and the Arizona State Prison. He married the love of his life, Josephine (Josie) Trujillo on May 31, 1958, and they shared 66 wonderful years of marriage. Patrick and Josie loved to dance and socialize. He loved to hunt, fish and camp with family and friends. Loved rooting for his Arizona Diamondbacks, Arizona Cardinals and Phoenix Suns, enjoyed watching westerns, Wheel of Fortune and the Price is Right, doing taxes, playing the lottery, drinking his coffee, cooking, reading the paper and doing crossword puzzles.

He is preceded in death by his son Patrick Trujillo Contreras; his parents Marcos Garcia Contreras and Placida Padilla Contreras; his sisters Maria Contreras Velasquez, Rosa Contreras Figueroa, Elenor Contreras, Susana Contreras; his brothers Marcos Contreras, Jesus Contreras, Armando Contreras; grandchildren Angelica Arrieta, Xavier Ortega, Baby Gutierrez.

He is survived by his loving, wife Josephine Trujillo Contreras; children Annie Vaughn (Joe), Patrick [Danny] Contreras (Roberta), Patricia Vasquez (Tommy), Marcos Contreras (Gloria Michelle), Joseph [Moe] Contreras (Michelle), Lillian [Lintene] Galvez (Chris), Adrian Contreras (Candi); 31 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren; his brother Guillermo [Billy] Contreras and sisters Lupe Commans and Frances Contreras.

The viewing and rosary will be held on Friday, July 12, 2024, at the Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, located at 11 Church Ave, Superior, Arizona at 5:00 p.m. The Mass of Catholic Burial will be Saturday, July 13, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Church and the interment will follow the Mass at the Fairview Cemetery, 231 W Sunset Dr, Superior Arizona.

Patrick created a legacy of faith, love and kindness that extended to all those he encountered. Semper Fi!
