Mary Pauline Goss of Globe entered eternal rest on April 30, 2026. Pauline, as she was lovingly known by family and friends, was born on November 10, 1939, in San Francisco to Stephen Joseph Rodriguez and Crusita Vegas. She was the youngest of six children.
During her younger years as a secretary, Pauline met the love of her life, Freddie C. Goss, while he was serving in the United States Marine Corps. After they married, they moved to Arizona, where they raised their four children together: sons Freddie Steven Goss, Randy Goss, and Rick Goss; daughter Terry Carr; and bonus daughter Lucinda.
Pauline took great pride in her cooking and was known for her homemade country-style meals, passed down through generations. From homemade biscuits and gravy in the mornings to savory beef pot roasts for supper, her kitchen was always filled with warmth and comfort. Holiday meals were especially memorable, complete with homemade dishes and decorations that reflected the joy of each occasion.
Family gatherings were an important part of Pauline's life. Preparations often began days in advance, with her favorite country music playing as the kitchen filled with singing, laughter, sweet aromas, and the occasional dance. For Pauline, cooking was one of the ways she showed love and brought people together. Her devotion to her family and home was evident in every gathering she created.
Pauline was blessed with 13 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, all of whom she loved dearly.
Pauline was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband Freddie; her parents, Stephen and Crusita; her brothers Frank and Herman; her sisters Delores and Margaret "Dolly"; her stepdaughter Lucinda; her grandson Steven Joseph; and many beloved extended in-law family members, including Fred and Louis Goss, as well as six brothers and two sisters.
She is survived by her brother, Stephen Rodriguez; her sisters-in-law, Marcy Goss, Sharon Hernandez, and Lynn Shaffer; her children and grandchildren; her extended family; and many loved ones who will cherish her memory forever.
The family will be holding a memorial gathering at Pauline's home in Wheatfields, and a living tribute of trees will be planted in Pauline's honor.
