Raymond Baldenegro Gonzalez aka "Smokey" died of cardiac arrest on January 30, 2022. For several years Raymond battled MDS cancer. Raymond was born in Nogales, Arizona on October 19, 1949 to Anita Baldenegro and Santiago Gonzalez. He was the oldest of 15 children. Raymond graduated from Hayden High School in 1969 and worked as a Boilermaker for over 30 years.

Raymond was a loving family man and avid sports fan.

Raymond was preceded by his parents, two sisters Gloria Bravo, Teri Gonzales, two brothers Pablo Morales and Rey Gonzalez, three nieces Vanessa Gonzalez, Trisha Bravo and Anna Dee Martinez and two nephews  Alfonso Guillen and Emiliano Morales.

Raymond is survived by his children - Vivian (Lencho) Sampson, Sam (Pamela Gonzalez, Andy Gonzalez, Jesus Gonzalez and Annalecia Gonzalez; grand-children - Kaneescha, Larrianne, Samantha (Jason), Clarissa, Javier and Lucas; one great grand child - his namesake - Matteo Ray. Plus 10 sisters, 5 brothers, many nieces, nephews and God-children.
