Raymond "Ray" Saenz Garcia, 75, passed away on Saturday, February 19, 2022, in Mesa, Arizona. He was born in Superior, Arizona to parents Ramon Garcia and Maria Louisa "Vicky", on September 9, 1946. He graduated from Superior High School in 1966 where he met the love of his life Virginia Cisneros. After graduation, he was drafted immediately into the United States Army. He went to Vietnam where he faithfully served his country for 2 years and received the Purple Heart Medal after sustaining an injury during the war. When he returned from the Army, they were married in 1968 and had their two daughters Valerie and Kim.

Ray worked for the Arizona Department of Highways for a short time. Next, he worked for Magma Copper/BHP for over 15 years. Ray then went on to work for Intel for 2 years, TRW Automotive and retired from there after 11 years. During his retirement he was able to care for Virginia during her illness. Ray was a free spirit and would do things or plan a trip in a flash and do basically whatever he wanted to do! He loved to shop, go to classic car shows, and enjoyed spending time watching his grandchildren's sports.

Ray is survived by his mother Maria Luisa "Vicky", his three brothers, Jesse, Pete and Ben "Benny", his two daughters, Valerie Rae Garcia-Denogean (Dico) and Kim Loreena Perez (John Paul). Five grandchildren: Raymond (Julie), Brandon (Tiffany), Breana (Andrew), Aliya and Matthew. His six great-grandchildren were his pride and joy: Raymond Jr, Gunner, Kaylee, Sariah, Leia and Juliana. Ray was preceded in death by his father Ramon Garcia, wife Virginia, brothers Johnny and Raul "Ruly" Garcia.
