Rita Medrano was born on August 10, 1926 to Julia & Manuel Medrano in Bisbee, Arizona. At the time of her birth, she was the oldest of her two siblings, Manuel Medrano II and John Medrano.

At a very early age, Rita, her mother, and her brothers moved to Glendale, Arizona to be closer to her grandparents. This move was due to the death of her father. Rita's mother Julia would later remarry and her family would be blessed with two more siblings, Mary Rodriguez and Margie Cargile.

At the young age of 8, a knock on the door would open up the Apostolic Faith to Rita and her family by a pastor who was spreading the gospel throughout her neighborhood.  He welcomed her and all of her family to come to church and get to know the Lord as well as the members of the church.  Over time, she became involved in the choir, taught herself how to play the piano, and participated in various church activities.  Then, on July 18, 1942, at the sweet age of 16, Rita was baptized in the name of Jesus.  The then-teenage Rita fondly recalls many youth fellowships in her home and always having a fantastic time with everyone singing while she played the piano. While living in Glendale,  she attended the First Church of Phoenix then located on 18th street and Maricopa.

It would be 10 years later that Rita would meet the love of her life, Reverend Jesus G. Garcia. At the time of the meeting, Jesus was an ordained minister. He would go on to ask for her hand in marriage after their brief courtship. Jesus and Rita had set their wedding date for February 14, 1953. They would soon have to pause their wedding plans as Ritas' grandmother Josefina Medrano was very ill and eventually passed away. But this did not affect their plans too much as they were married the following Sunday!

Jesus and Rita were blessed with four children, two girls; Josie Wernette & Rita Ortega, and two boys; Jesus Garcia & Isaac Garcia. The family of six worked and labored in God's assignments both in Phoenix Arizona and in Superior Arizona. They pastored Superior Apostolic Church until her husband's death in January of 1978. They were married and in love for 25 beautiful years.

Rita always served faithfully as a Pastor's wife and with her wonderful hospitality at their home. They would receive and host many Pastors, Bishops and also had the opportunity to fellowship along with the Bishop President of that time. She also served alongside her husband as an Elder's Wife and in various positions with the Dorcas Auxiliary.

With every day that the Lord granted her, Rita would live her life to the fullest never missing an opportunity to tell someone about the love of Jesus Christ. She remained faithful to her faith and her walk with God until she completed her earthly assignment and entered into the presence of the Almighty Lord on October 1, 2022.

Rita Medrano Garcia is preceded in death by her mother Julia, husband Jesus, brother Manuel II, and grandchild Marcelino. Rita is survived by her brother and younger sisters; John Medrano, Mary Rodriguez, and Margie Cargile, her four children Josie & husband Eddie Wernett, Rita & husband Henry Ortega, Jesus "Chuy" Garcia, and Isaac & wife Letty Garcia. Her grandchildren; are Jeremy & wife Shannon, Jason & wife Angela, Joseph,  Rita & husband Tony, Connie & husband Adam, Christopher & wife Ruthie, Michael, Anthony,  Elizabeth, Jesus Chuyito, Andrew, and Tiffany. Her many great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
