Robert (Bob) Becker - Passed with peace and grace on September 9, 2019 with his family at his
side. Predeceased by his loving wife Sally Ann Becker, parents George and Bernice Becker and
sister Bernice Ward. Survived by daughter Denise (Harold) Holmes, son Mike (Samajia)
Becker, son Troy (Charlene) Becker, son Tommy (Clara) Becker; Bob had 14 grandchildren, 15
great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild
Bob was born in Brooklyn, New York, on February 28, 1929 to George and Bernice Becker. He
spent his childhood years in Cairo, New York with his parents and sister Bernice. For his young
adult life the family moved to East Hartford, Connecticut where Bob attended East Hartford High
School. In his graduation year of 1946 Bob and his family set off out west on Route 66 to
Williams, AZ. Soon thereafter, the family moved to Miami, AZ where his father was employed
as a machinist.
Within the next year, his parents and sister moved to the Phoenix area, leaving Bob in the
Globe-Miami area. Robert first worked as a stock boy in the Company Commercial Store,
before he began his Apprenticeship as a Pipefitter. As Bob settled himself in town he met a girl,
This girl was Sally Ann Becker and as he said, "I knew from the moment I saw her walk through
the door, she would be the love of my life". On November 11, 1955 Robert and Sally were
married by Father Weber at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Miami, AZ.
Bob completed is Apprenticeship as a Pipefitter, and quickly settled into his life with his wife
Sally. Shortly after their family life started with their 4 children. Bob was known for many things
but his love for Pipefitting and welding topped the list. Many know of the beautiful belt buckles
and bracelets he created in his spare time for friends and family. His favorite past time was
spending time with his family and enjoying watching his grand-children in their extracurricular
activities.
