Robert "Gus Gus" Angel Hernandez Obituary
Hernandez, Robert "Gus Gus" A. 70, of Superior, AZ passed away on Friday, August 12, 2022, at his daughter's home in Chandler, AZ surrounded by his loving family. He was born on December 6, 1951 in Glendale, AZ at Luke's Air Force Base and was raised in Jerome and Superior, AZ. He enjoyed playing softball, golf, hunting, camping, traveling, coaching, attending his children's and grandchildren's sporting events, spending time with his family, and hanging out with his compadres and good friends. He had a love and appreciation for music, especially Oldies and Motown, and he loved to dance. He is preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Angel "Beanses" Hernandez. He was happily married for 49 years and is survived by his wife Marylou, daughter Christina "Tina" Barrera (Sergio), sons Robert Jr. "Bobby" (Sonia), and Anthony "Tony". He is also survived by his six grandchildren; Tiari, Elena, and Adrian "Guerro" (Christina), Santiago and Amiya (Bobby), and Ashton (Tony). He is also survived by his siblings Dolores Martinez (Mark), Raul "Champ", Johnny (Dolly), and Teresa.

Services will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 490 W. Main Street, Superior, AZ on Saturday, August 20, 2022. The Viewing will start at 9:00 AM, followed by a Rosary at 9:30 AM, and the Mass at 10:00 AM. His Celebration of Life luncheon will be held at Los Hermanos Restaurant and Lounge, 835 US-60, Superior, AZ, following the Mass at 12:00 PM. Services are entrusted to Superior Funeral Home, 379 Ray Road, Superior, AZ. Flowers can be ordered at Rose's Roses Flower, Gifts, and Printing in Superior, AZ at (520)689-2400. The cemetery burial of his ashes will be held at a later date with his immediate family.
