Robert Almejo Lopez, 72 passed away on Thursday September 30, 2021 at his home in Apache Junction, Az., he was surrounded by family and friends.  Robert was born on October 1, 1949 in Superior, Az. to Ramona and Chris Lopez.  He attended Tucson High School and Superior High School. He attended Central Arizona College.

Robert worked for Kennecott and Asarco Copper mines for many years as a Certified Diesel Mechanic and D.P. Supervisor.  He also worked at I.N.S.  as a Security Officer.  Robert's hobbies included hunting, fishing, working in the yard and working on cars.  He really enjoyed having BBQs with family, playing horseshoes, corn hole, pool, and darts.  He also enjoyed helping others.

He is preceded in death by his father Chris Lopez, mother Ramona Lopez and Stepmother Carmen Lopez.  Robert is survived by his wife of 54 years, Mary Ann Lopez and his children Roberta Salazar (Desi Sr.), Anne Marie Riegle and Anthony Lopez.  Grandchildren Desi Jr. & Mario Salazar, Erica & Gene Riegle and Great-Grandson Landon Salazar.  Brother Chris and sisters Ruby & Anna.
