Robert Ortega passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 03, 2024, at his home in Winkelman, Arizona, surrounded by his family.

Robert, 72, was born on May 18, 1952, to Guillermo and Virginia Ortega in Lordsburg, New Mexico.

Robert grew up and attended school in Duncan, Arizona, graduating from Duncan High School in 1971. He moved to Winkelman in September of 1971 and began working for ASARCO until his retirement in 2015. Robert married the love of his life Arlene (Cervantez), on April 29, 1972. Together they made their home with their three children in Winkelman until his passing.

Robert was an avid sports fan. Win or lose, he loved his Arizona Wildcats. He spent many years cheering on all his grandchildren at their sporting events. He rarely missed a game. Robert also enjoyed spending the summers at his cabin in Alpine, Arizona where he would go fishing and hunting. His favorite of all was gathering his family and friends every summer for celebrations at the cabin.

Robert will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

He is preceded in death by his parents; Guillermo & Virginia Ortega; brothers Guillermo, Ralph, Gilbert, and Daniel.

Robert is survived by his wife Arlene Ortega; daughter Stephanie Ortega; son Randy (Anita) Ortega; son Guillermo Ortega; sister Elvira (Bill) Newell.

Grandchildren Irmalinda (Kim) Marinez; Melinda Marinez; Guillermo Ortega Jr.; Javier Ortega; Daniel Ortega; Karianna Ortega.

Great Grandchildren Amaya Marinez; Jacob Marinez; Charlee Marinez; Marcos Santa Maria.
