Rosa Cecilea Madrid, 80, passed away on Tuesday, September 13, 2022 in Tucson, Arizona, surrounded by her family. She was born March 31, 1942 in Tiger, Arizona to parents Louis and Carmen (Gastelum) Yubeta.

Rosa began her young life in Tucson, Arizona and her family relocated to Mammoth, Arizona. She graduated from San Manuel High School in 1959. On June 9, 1962, Rosa married George Madrid. Rosa was not just a Fulltime housewife and mother of 7, but she also found time to work as a photographer for the local newspaper, The San Manuel Miner. She would also do photos for special events such as weddings and quinceañeras and strived to capture all their precious moments on camera. She also took time to sell Avon Cosmetics, which fit her perfect because she loved to meet people and start conversations with everyone. She was always so alive and so friendly, wanting and willing to help.

Rosa loved to travel. Some of her favorite places to visit were Pinetop, AZ, Mexico, and California. She loved going to the casino. She loved being at family gatherings. She was an amazing cook and the family learned from her. She enjoyed dancing and music in her final days.

Rosa was an extremely strong woman. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, George, her sons, George, Albert, Robert, Carlos, Manuel and Martin, and her only daughter, Melita. She also leaves behind 23 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Funeral Services for Rosa will be held Friday, September 23, 2022 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 122 Church Dr. Mammoth, AZ 85618. Visitation is set to begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by Rosary at 10:30 a.m. and Mass at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place at Valley View Cemetery.
