Rosario "Cuata" Llamas

Born November 24, 1930 Rosario and her twin sister were the youngest of eight children born to Josefa Bonillas and Francisco Bonillas in Winkleman, AZ.

Growing up she talked about presenting flowers to the church with her sister and playing marbles with friends.

Fall October 23, 1948 Rosario met the love of her life Abelard Llamas at a dance in Mammoth, AZ. Since that night they've been inseparable.

After dating for seven years, they finally decided to tie the knot on July 10, 1955 in Winkleman, Arizona. That same evening they set off to start a life together in San  Manuel, AZ. Since then, she's helped  created a family, raised her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren until her death.

Cuata loved  hosting and attending family functions. She never showed up empty-handed, always taking a dish or two just make sure there was enough. She had a deep love for music ranging from Norteño music to Hill Billy music. Cuata would sit in her room for hours singing and gritando which could be heard outside. Even upon her death bed she let out gritos for the love and content she had inside.  Cuata was full of laughter and joy and always had more than enough room in her heart to whoever needed love and attention.

One of her biggest joys were children. She enjoyed the shows that her kids would put on for her, singing and dancing like the Temptations or like Gladys Knight and the Pits. Cuata continued to express her love for life all through her great grandchildren attending and singing at their school shows.

Surviving family members are husband Abelardo Llamas, (children) Rosa Marie, Genevieve, Abelardo, eight grandchildren and many great grandchildren
