RUBY CHAVEZ ALDERETE, 69, loving nana, mother and daughter, went to be with our Lord and Saviour, Wednesday March 25th, 2020 at University Medical Center in Tucson, Arizona.

Ruby was born December 30 ^th , 1950, in Hayden, Arizona to Cruzita and Guillermo Chavez, raised in Hayden-Winkelman and graduated from Hayden High School in 1969.  She was 1 of 6 children born to Guillermo and Cruzita Chavez.  Ruby raised 3 children, Jessica Quesada (Ben), Freddie Alderete (Krystal) and Steven Alderete (Jessica).

She is also survived by her siblings, whom she cherished, Guillermo Chavez Jr., Gloria Valdez (Anselmo), Isabelle Bufanda (Bobby), Bobby Chavez (Sherry) and Valerie Chavez, countless Tio's and Tia's, 12 grand-children Brianna, Cassandra, Alyssa, Melanie, Yarasette, Benjamin, Raquel, Christopher, Maricela, Rico, Steven, and Rodolfo, and many nieces and nephews. She adored her grand-children and was discouraged to not see them often and would let them know. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, and a still born son Christopher Steven.

Ruby was very out-going, out spoken and willing to look after or assist anyone when needed.  She was a very creative woman. She loved to sew, paint, cook, bake, crochet, bead, and create flower arrangements and wreaths.  She made the best red chili for her Christmas tamales! She was a Brownie and a Girl Scout leader for many years.  In her earlier years she went to beauty school and graduated. She was a beautician for many years, she also worked at Circle K in Globe, where she met and eventually married Frederico Alderete. She was an avid bowler and very good at it, and she loved to go dancing. She was a stay at home mom while her children were growing up.  She worked as a janitor at Asarco for many years.  She made holidays special with her cooking, gifts and her gatherings.  Ruby was a doting daughter.  She took great care of her mother and father up until their passing.

Ruby has touched so many lives.  To her friends became family.  She would give you her opinion whether you wanted it or not.  She was a loving nana, mother, daughter, wife, sister, cousin, God-mother, and devote catholic.  She will be greatly missed and loved.  If you knew her she had an impact on your life. Her memory will live on through her family and friends.  We love you very much and you were taken too soon.
