Sofie was born September 24, 1931 in Winkelman, Arizona to Laura and Antonio Padilla.  She was the oldest of four children:  Sofie, Tony, Gloria (Laly) and Laura.  Sofie was preceeded in death by her parents, sister Laura and husband Raul C. Mendoza.

Sofie graduated from Hayden High School and worked part-time at Raul's Gila Furniture store.

Sofie is survived by four children :  Gloria Ann (Pete) Rios, Raul Jr. (Lupe) Mendoza, Celia and Ernestina, 7 grand children and 13 great-grand children.
