The City of Globe and the town of Miami became smaller on February 17, 2026, as one of its native-born heroes, Thomas "Tom" Edward Stanneart Sr, passed away peacefully after battling an illness for two weeks. This honorable Navy Reserve veteran of fifteen years with multiple commendations and service in multiple foreign operations is survived by his beautiful wife of 37 years, Mary Loehr, his pride and joy, Thomas Stanneart Jr, and five grandchildren. Tom was known as dad to many people. He never met a stranger, and he never held a grudge. He will forever live on in the thousands of hearts this gentle giant touched. He was a great man who loved hard with his whole heart. He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered. Services will be held at Bulman Family Funeral Home in Globe AZ on Thursday March 5 at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to be made to the High Desert Humane Society.
