Vicki Elaine Ortega passed away Tuesday, April 28, 2026, in Globe, Arizona. She was born August 20, 1951, to James and Grace Smith in Lawton Oklahoma. She attended school in Oklahoma.

In 1981 she met her husband Thomas Ortega while working as a K.P Worker at Ft. Sill, Oklahoma.

She worked at Jack-in-the-Box in Globe for many years. She was a devout member of the Southern Baptist Church Wheatfields.

She enjoyed going to casino's, playing bingo, traveling to Laughlin and Oklahoma, singing, and serenading the residents of Heritage.

Vicki was preceded in death by her parent James and Grace Smith and Jimmy Smith her beloved brother.

She is survived by her husband Thomas Ortega, children Jeremy Smith, Dustin Leroy Gelhausen, and Kasey Lane (Doug) Copeland, grandchildren Devin, Justin, Garrett, Natalya, and Rose, and sister Mary Smith of Lawton Oklahoma.
