Virginia (Ginny) G. Herrera was born on February 7, 1942, to Eusebio and Agripina
Guadiana, at a time when the world was still in the grip of World War II. She was the
youngest child and the only surviving daughter in a close-knit family that included her
three brothers, Mike, Ralph, and Bobby.

Ginny was raised in a loving and protective home, grounded deeply in her Catholic faith
and surrounded by the warmth of the Depot Hill community in Miami, Arizona. Outgoing
and warm-hearted, she formed lifelong friendships and remained devoted to her family
and friends throughout her life.

In 1957, she met and fell deeply in love with returning Air Force PFC John Herrera. In a
rare act of youthful boldness, she ran off and married him in June of that year. Despite
the challenges of starting young, their love endured for 66 beautiful years. Together they
built a life centered on faith and family and were blessed with three children: John,
Eileen (Ken Moore), and Debra (John Goebel).

Ginny was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was also
a familiar and friendly face to many in Miami through her work at Central Drug, where
she served as assistant to pharmacist Bill Thompson and later earned her Pharmacy
Technician certification. Her dedication, kindness, and steady presence made her a
trusted figure in the community.

Faith was the cornerstone of Ginny's life. A lifelong member of Our Lady of the Blessed
Sacrament Church, she generously gave her time both before and after her retirement
in 1996. She regularly brought food to elderly friends and family, assisted with church
and community projects, volunteered as a poll worker during elections, and was a
devoted member of the parish funeral reception group — a ministry she often said kept
her busy and joyfully connected with her comadres.

Ginny will be deeply missed by her children and grandchildren: Cassandra (Trevor)
Andrews and Genevieve Messina; Matthew (Karly) Herrera and Isabelle (Brian)
Romero; Erin Buchanan; Jack (Teresa) Goebel and Eilishe (Sean) Crocker; and her
great-grandchildren Halen, Olsen, and Nolen Herrera, Bella Romero, Sofia Andrews,
John and Maryn Goebel, and Jackson Crocker. Her legacy of faith, service, love, and
steadfast devotion to family will continue to live on in each of them.
Services will be held on March 28, 2026, at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Church.
Viewing will begin at 9:00 a.m., followed by the Rosary at 9:30 a.m. and the Funeral
Mass at 10:00 a.m. A graveside service will follow the Mass, with a reception afterward
in the OLBS reception hall.

Ginny's life was a testament to enduring love, quiet strength, and faithful service — a
life beautifully lived and a heart that will be forever cherished.
