Waldo Gomez, native son of Superior, passed away at Banner Hospital in Phoenix on January 13, 2021 at the age of 82.  Born on May 16, 1939 to Jose and Marcelina Gomez Waldo was one of seven children.

Waldo served in the United States Army in Germany and received his GED while in the military.  After the Army Waldo worked for Magma Copper in Superior for over 12 years and then moved to Phoenix where he worked for Reynolds Aluminum and later Fry's Food Stores.

Waldo is survived by his son Angelo, brother Dennis and sisters Juanita, Patti and Mary Ellen as well as many nieces and nephews.  Waldo was predeceased by his parents and brothers Joe and Manual.  His step grandson Luis Alliger was very close to Waldo and gave him great support in his later years.
