Walter "Rusty" Long age 70 of Globe passed away peacefully on January 21, 2021 in Globe AZ. Rusty as everyone knew him, was born on April 9, 1950 in Florence, Arizona to his loving parents Walter and Wilma or as everyone called her Grandma Goose. Rusty graduated from Coolidge High School in 1968 and began working in Telecommunications. He worked for Mountain Bell, AT& T, Us West and Quest for 37 years.  Rusty married the love of his life Kathy, they had been married for 51 years. Rusty was a local member of the Elks Lodge and loved to work on his corvette. Rusty was also incredibly involved with the community where he loved to coach little league baseball. One thing that Rusty really enjoyed was spending time with his grandchildren, this was their time to work and build Go-Carts together. Among many of Rusty's talents one that really stood out was that he was highly skilled at wood working, and he was also an avid bowler. Rusty was preceded in death by his parents Walter and Wilma "Grandma Goose", his grandchild Chad Quiroz. Walter is survived by his wife Kathy, his children Danny (Shannon) Long, Rindy (Danne)Quiroz, his four brothers Burl, Earl, James (Nan), Stan (Marnie) Long, and his sister Joanne Smith, He is also survived by seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Walter "Rusty" will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
